ChemE Mourns Passing of Prof. Nicholas J. Turro
It is with great sadness that we post this article regarding the passing of Professor Nicholas J. Turro Saturday, November 24th.
Prof. Turro, the Schweitzer Professor of Chemistry and Professor of Chemical Engineering and of Environmental Engineering and Materials Science in the Department of Earth and Environmental Engineering, was a dear friend to the department and instrumental to our success. He and Prof. George Flynn help revitalized our program in the mid-1990's as co-chairs. He was regarded as a brilliant scientist, an endearing teacher and wonderful colleague to many here at the university and those who knew him.
