Columbia’s program in Chemical engineering is one of the oldest in the country, and is home to undergraduate and graduate students studying under some of the top researchers and contributors in the field. Our students and alumni possess the technical expertise needed in a variety of industries including chemical engineering, business, management, finance, law, medicine or education.

There are many ways for employers to engage with our students, alumni and the Department including recruiting, internship programs, information sessions, research seminars, etc. Please explore these topics on our website, and if you have additional questions or want to know how to participate in any of them, contact Raina Ranaghan, Chemical Engineering Department's Career Placement Officer: (212) 854-9158.

Host an Information Session

A great way to promote your company and network with our students is to send your recruiters or engineers to campus to host a talk or a skills workshop (Recruiting 101, mock technical interviews, etc). For the broadest reach, we recommend holding these sessions in the first half of each semester – early September through mid-October for fall semester, or late January through mid-March for spring semester. Please contact Raina Ranaghan for additional information and assistance.

Internships

Both undergraduate and graduate students are encouraged to get real world experience in chemical engineering as part of their education. The department offers a fieldwork course that provides this work experience. If you or your company would like to provide an internship opportunity for a chemical engineering student, please contact Raina Ranaghan, (212) 854-9158.
