Yu Luo

Yu Luo is selected as a finalist for the CAST Director's Student Presentation Award. He will present his work “The Control of Self-Interested Agents: Learning from Nature’s Wisdom of Crowds” during the 2016 AIChE Annual Meeting held in San Francisco this November. As a finalist, Yu is also invited to the CAST Division dinner for recognition and will receive $500 travel support. Yu is currently a fifth-year PhD student in Prof. Venkat Venkatasubramanian's group. His research focuses on the intersection of process systems engineering, game theory, and artificial intelligence. He is particularly interested in multi-agent collective dynamics and systemic risk. When Yu is not solving equations, you might find him sketching portraits of famous people.

The Computing and Systems Technology (CAST) Division of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE) is responsible for the wide range of activities within AIChE that involve the application of computers and mathematics to chemical engineering problems including process design, process control, operations, and applied mathematics.
