Chemical Engineering students interested in studying abroad should arrange to meet with the Undergraduate Committee Chair and Departmental advisors.

Chemical Engineering curricula throughout the world have emerged from different disciplines at different times. In some cases, subjects required for accreditation in the US may not receive sufficient attention in other countries, and in other cases, the course and subject offerings are not in the same order. For this reason, it is not always easy to find an equivalent set of courses that allow students to satisfy their major requirements while studying abroad in their junior or senior year. Students, by working closely with Department advisors, have been able to develop a plan while graduating on time. This requires careful scheduling of courses, beginning typically at least a year in advance. Because of these complications, we strongly recommend the semester abroad during the sophomore year.
